dreaming away under full moon

dreaming away under full moon

As per chat on Sunday, life has been hectic.  Part of the reason for creating a number of designs with the theme of mooncake festival wato design a lesportsac weekwith the theme of HK.

Here is the creative statement:

Full moon and clear sky give a warm and touching feeling that calms you down and makes you feel loved (by friends, family or special someone).   Hong Kong is well known for the city of light with beautiful illuminating skyline at night.  Yet, no matter how

amazing the artificial and ambient light arrangement that one can create, that still give way to the spontanenous natural beauty of moonlight – which is like a big street lamp brightening life and the dark corners in the city.

I’m particularly fond of the mid-autumn festival when friends and family get together and celebrate for the fullness of life as the full moon brings.  In the city of concrete forest, high-rises stretch skyline out into space where the moon appears even higher.  The design portraits the happiness of family and friends gathering under the full moon where most would go out, look up the sky and dream away.  In the culture of text messaging in Hong Kong, the facial expressions are playfully illustrated using font types and emoticons.

two suitcases – one love

moonlight and love

Here is another mooncake festival inspired art… this is rather a quick sketch done out of the blue while working on a design.  it’s somewhat sketchy but fun.   Perhaps, it’s a cliche but somehow moon and moonlight give a very warm touching feeling that calms you down and makes you feel loved (from family, friends or special someone).  The bright and round moon seems like a big street lamp illuminating the sky and dark corners.

So, two suitcases ends with one love, how?  Serendipity plays an important role in our life.  As somone logical and analytical, it’s uncommon to live without a plan.   Yet, not everything can be planned.  We should all give life a chance and perhaps to set free sometimes.  Have you ever watched a movie “Holiday” (starring Jude Law Cameron Diaz, Kate Winston, Jack Black)?  Although it’s not x’mas or holiday now, the story is quite interesting.  Believe it or not, something dramatic like the story can happen (not an expert, but can say it’s true).   Whether things last or not and for how long are another questions.  Perhaps being in a new city or new place bring new perspective and give you an exceptional power of excitement, curiosity and openness to try not only new food, custom but also accept new friends or relationship.  Enjoy the full moon and all the happiness it brings.
